GENEVA, N.Y. -The Hobart swimming and diving team was back in action this afternoon as it took on conference foe St. Lawrence in Bristol Pool. The Statesmen defeated the Saints 151-81 to move to 2-3 on the season, while the Saints fall to 1-2 overall.
Sophomore Christopher Woody led the team with three first-place finishes. He secured two individual victories in the 50-yard (29.66) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.36) events. Woody also finished first in the 200-yard medley relay along with first-year's Bailey Jacobs, Marshall Hemmerich and George Weir, stopping the clock at 1:48.37.
Weir came in first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.74, while Hemmerich finished first in the 50-yard fly, clocking in at 25.59. Weir and Hemmerich were also part of the 400-yard free relay team that took the first-place victory with a time of 3:33.85, along with junior Randall Dominguez and first-year Gerard Humiston
First-year Payton Owens secured a first-place finish in the 1000-yard free, stopping the clock at 12:13.56.
From the diving board, junior Daniel Barrientos led the team, placing first in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. He scored a 241.70 from the 1-meter board and a 287.90 from the 3-meter board to claim first place in both events.

The Statesmen will be back in action Dec. 6-7 when they travel to Rochester for the annual Don Richards Invitational held on the campus of RIT.
