GENEVA, N.Y. -The William Smith swimming and diving team was back in action this afternoon as it took on St. Lawrence University in Bristol Pool. The Herons defeated the Saints 157-137 and moved to 4-1 on the season, while the visiting Saints fall to 2-1.
First-year's Kaleigh Boynton and Fiona Garfield led the team with two individual first place finishes each. Boynton finished first in both the 50-yard breaststroke and 100-yard breast with respective times of 33.51 and 1:12.55. Garfield was strong off the diving board, finishing first in the 1-meter and 3-meter events, with scores of 187.95 and 191.15, respectively.
Sophomore Mackenzie Morus secured a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 2:04.62, while senior Tessa Yohan came in first in the 100-yard fly with a time of 1:03.39.
First-year Boglarka Olah took first place in the 100-yard backstroke event, clocking in at 1:04.93.
