Four members of the William Smith soccer team were named to the 2024 Academic All-District® Team selected by College Sports Communicators.
 
Seniors Marissa Mastracco and Lindsay Ringbloom and juniors Ruth Hotaling and Emily Blight were honored.  Mastracco received the recognition for the third time and Hotaling was named to the team for the second straight year.
 
Mastracco is a biology major. She has started all 21 games. She has five points on two goals and an assist. Mastracco scored in wins over Clarkson and St. Lawrence. She also plays a key role in William Smith's defense that is ranked 45th in the nation in GAA (0.66) and has 11 shutouts. Mastracco is a three-time Liberty League All-Academic selection. She has started 83 of the 84 games she has played in, recording 14 points on four goals and six assists.
 
Ringbloom is a psychology major. She has played in all 21 games this season, starting six. Ringbloom enters the weekend with 13 points on six goals and an assist. She is tied for the team lead in goals. Ringbloom is credited with the game-winning goals against Messiah and Clarkson. A three-time Liberty League All-Academic selection, Ringbloom has played in 40 career games. She has 15 points on seven goals and an assist.
 
Hotaling is a mathematics and music major. She has started all 21 games this season. Hotaling leads the Herons with 20 points and 10 assists. She is third on the team with five goals. Hotaling has started 58 of the 62 career games she has played in, recording 48 points on 13 goals and 22 assists. She is a two-time Liberty League All-Academic and two time All-Liberty League selection.
 
Blight is a management and entrepreneurship major. She has played in 20 games, starting nine in the midfield for the Herons. Blight has played in 38 career games in her first three seasons.
 
The 2024 Academic All-District teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. A select group of student-athletes advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot where CSC members vote on Academic All-America teams. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
 
To be eligible for Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50. Athletically, student-athletes must either appear in 90 percent of their team's games or start 66 percent of them.
