GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobartsquash team wrapped up the 2024 portion of its schedule with a pair of home matches this past weekend. The Statesmen welcomed a pair of top-20 NESCAC teams to the Smith Squash Center over the weekend.
On Saturday, Hobart was defeated by No. 20 Middlebury 8-1, and on Sunday the Statesmen were beaten by No. 19 Amherst 7-2
AGAINST THE PANTHERS
- Middlebury won seven of their eight points in 3-0 sweeps.
- In the No. 2 spot, senior Joseph Raskin Lantos picked up Hobart's point. He defeated the Panthers' Caleb Boateng, 11-6, 6-11, 8-11, 11-5, 11-9. It was his third win of the season.
- First-year Toby Clegg-Petri had a hard fought battle at No. 2, but was edged, 5-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-9, 12-10.
AGAINST THE MAMMOTHS
- Amherst had six 3-0 sweeps and a 3-2 win to clinch the victory.
- Clegg-Petri again put up a strong fight at No. 2, but was edged 5-11, 9-11, 11-4, 11-8, 11-8.
- At No. 3, Raskin Lantos beat Fares Khairy, 11-3, 11-6, 7-11, 11-9. It was his fourth win of the year.
- Matthew Aldana added a point for the Statesmen, Rallying to beat Walter Huffman, 5-11, 11-6, 13-11, 13-11, at No. 4.

Hobart will be in action on January 8, 2025, when it welcomes St. Lawrence to the Smith Squash Center.
