The top-ranked Hobart hockey team hits the road for the first time this season when it travels to Rutland, Vermont, to begin New England Hockey Conference play. The Statesmen will take on Vermont State University Castleton this weekend, Nov. 8-9. The series kicks off Friday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. Saturday's game will start at 4 p.m.

The Statesmen opened the season with a pair of wins. On Friday, Hobart defeated Oswego 5-2. Senior

The Spartans are 0-1-1 to start the year. Castleton lost to then No. 9 Plattsburgh 6-3 to open the season. Luke Chakrabarti had two assists. The next day, Castleton tied Keene State 1-1.
