Herons fall to Lakers 160-140

GENEVA, N.Y. – The William Smith swimming & diving team suffered its first loss of the season as it fell to SUNY Oswego 160-140 this afternoon in Bristol Pool. The Herons fall to 3-1 on the season, while the Lakers move to 3-0.

Sophomore Mackenzie Morus led the team with three first place finishes. Morus came first in the 1000-yard freestyle and in the 100-yard IM with times of 11:26.63 and 1:07.23, respectively. She was also part of the winning 200-yard free relay team with first-year Amalia Olivieri, first-year Kaleigh Boynton, and junior Hali Seidberg. The relay team stopped the clock at 1:49.07 to claim first place.

First-year Boglarka Olah also secured two individual first place finishes in the 50-yard back with a time of 30.51, and the 100-yard back with a time of 1:05.91. Boynton finished first in the 100-yard breast, stopping the clock at 1:13.64. 

From the diving board, first-year Fiona Garfield came in first place from the 3-meter board with a score of 185.35. She also placed second from the 1-meter board with a score of 194.80

UP NEXT

The Herons will be back in action Saturday, Nov. 16, when they welcome St. Lawrence University to Bristol Pool for their first Liberty League match up. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
