The 12th-ranked William Smith soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 25 when it returns to Cozzens Field for its Liberty League opener. The Herons will take on Rochester Institute of Technology at 4:30 p.m. It will be a rematch of last season's Liberty League Championship match.
 
William Smith is 4-2-1 overall. This past weekend, the Herons defeated then No. 7 University of Rochester 3-1. Senior Marjorie Plants, sophomore Kaleigh Darby, and senior Lindsay Ringbloom scored in the win. Graduate student Kirsten Nelson made three saves.
 
RIT enters the week with a 3-1-2 overall record. This past Saturday, the Tiger were shut out by Wooster 3-0.

• Plants leads the Herons with five goals and 11 points.

• Emily Sanchez and Avery Donnelly have split time in goal this season. Sanchez is 2-0-0 with a 1.71 GAA and a .600 save percentage. Donnelly is 1-1-2 with a 1.60 GAA and a .636 save percentage.
