GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart senior
Joseph Raskin Lantos earned his team-leading sixth win of the season, but the Statesmen were defeated by 24th-ranked Bowdoin 8-1 at the Smith Squash Center this morning.
The Statesmen fall to 1-8 on the season while Bowdoin improves to 5-2 overall.
MATCH SUMMARY
- Bowdoin won six of their eight points in 3-0 sweeps.
- In the No. 5 spot, Matthew Aldana put up a strong fight, but was edged, 4-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-7 by Abhiroop Reddy.
- First-year Toby Clegg-Petri had a battle in the No. 1 spot, but was topped 9-11, 11-1, 11-7, 11-1.
- In the No. 3 spot, Raskin Lantos knocked off Fotis Zafiriou, 11-6, 4-11, 11-5, 11-9. It was his sixth win of the season. He is 6-2 in the No. 3 spot. Raskin Lantos has won 37 career matches.
ROAD WARRIORS
Hobart will hit the road to conclude the season with its final five matches coming away from the Smith Squash Center. The Statesmen begin the road trip on Jan. 22 when they take on Rochester at 6 p.m.
