The Hobart and William Smith Alpine skiing teams will race at Bristol Mountain this weekend in the third week of USCSA Mideast Conference action. The Statesmen and Herons will race in the giant slalom Saturday, Feb. 1, followed by the slalom on Sunday. First run races will start at 9 a.m. both days with the second run following at noon.
 
William Smith sits in second place in the 2025 team standings with nine points. The Herons currently trail Colgate with four points. Hamilton rounds out the top three with 13 points. William Smith is coming off a third-place finish in the giant slalom with a combined team time of 5:37.37 and a second-place team finish in the slalom with a combined team time of 5:08.47 last week.
 
The Herons are led by senior Marjorie Plants who has finished top-six in every event this season, including two top-two finishes. Plants posted a second-place finish in the second week of events at Labrador Mountain with a time of 1:38.39 in slalom. In addition, she posted a top-six finish at Greek Peak with a time of 1:49.33 in giant slalom. Junior Katherine Broderick, sophomore Emily Cain, and first-year Mia Crivelli have all contributed top finishes to keep William Smith in second place overall.
 
Hobart sits in first place in the team standings with four points. Rounding out the top-three are Colgate with 10 points, and Syracuse with 14 points. The Statesmen are coming off a first-place team finish in the giant slalom with a combined team time of 5:09.56 and a first-place team finish in the slalom with a combined team time of 4:33.24 last week.
 
Hobart is led by first-year Will Patton who has posted two first place finishes as well as one second place finish. This past weekend, Patton finished first with a time of 1:40.34 in giant slalom at Greek Peak and a time of 1:28.34 in slalom at Labrador Mountain. Junior Jack Ross and sophomore Ethan Hine have accumulated a combined six top-10 finishes for the Statesmen this season.
