The top-ranked Hobart hockey team hits the road this weekend, as they head to New Haven, Connecticut, to take on New England Hockey Conference foe Albertus Magnus. On Friday Jan. 31, faceoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Ralph Walker Skating Rink. The Statesmen and Falcons will square of again the following afternoon at 4 p.m.
 
Last weekend, Hobart swept Norwich University, picking up a pair of 4-1 victories. Junior Tanner Daniels (1g, 3a) and senior Luke Aquaro (1g, 3a) led the Statesmen with four points each.
 
Albertus Magnus is coming off a weekend split with Salve Regina. On Saturday, the Seahawks won 6-5 in overtime and Sunday the Falcons won 2-1.

ABOUT THE STATESMEN (17-0-0, 12-0-0 NEHC)

• Hobart enters the weekend first in the NEHC standings with 36 points. The Statesmen have a 10-point lead over Babson with two games in hand.
• Daniels leads the Statesmen with 10 goals and 23 points. He is 16th in the nation in points per game (1.35) and fifth in shorthanded goals with two.
• Senior Shane Shell has 14 assists. He is ranked 23rd in the country in assists per game (0.82). 
• Juniors Damon Beaver and Mavrik Goyer have split time in net for the Statesmen. Beaver has a 1.00 GAA, a .960 save percentage, and three shutouts.
