GENEVA, N.Y.—The 17th-ranked Hobart soccer team and Vassar battled to a 1-1 draw in a Liberty League contest on Cozzens Field this afternoon. With the draw, Hobart extends its unbeaten streak to 13 games.

Tommy Chyzowych played all 90 minutes in goal and made two saves.
Jared Fiske scored for the Brewers. Patrick Gale played all 90 minutes in goal for Vassar and made three saves.
FOR THE RECORD
- With the draw, Hobart is now 10-0-3 on the season with a 5-0-2 mark in Liberty League play. It extends Hobart's best start to a year since the 2008 season.
- Vassar is now 7-3-3 on the season with a 3-1-2 mark in conference play.
MATCH STATS
- The Statesmen dominated the stat sheet, finishing the contest with a 24-10 advantage in shots.
- The Brewers blocked nine shots in the contest.
- Hobart had five corner kicks and Vassar had one.
GAME MOMENTS
- Vassar controlled the opening portion of the match, taking the first four shots of the game.
- In the 23rd minute, Arden Tobolski had a shot turned aside by Chyzowych. Fiske jumped on the rebound, but his shot was blocked by a Hobart defender.
- The Brewers opened the scoring in the 33rd minute. Fiske collected a bouncing ball in the box and slipped it past Chyzowych for his 11th goal of the season. Tobolski was credited with an assist on the goal.
- After the goal, Hobart responded, putting pressure on the Vassar defense. Sophomore Griffin Coutts had a shot that just missed the left goal post.
- Senior Quinn Phillips chipped a shot just over the crossbar in the 34th minute.
- Junior Will Redman had Hobart's best chance in the opening 45 minutes, but his shot from inside the 18-yard box sailed over the crossbar.
- The Statesmen came out of the halftime break and completely switched the game on its head, outshooting Vassar 16-3 over the final 45 minutes.
- In the 54th minute, first-year Tommy Broderick came streaking down the left wing but had his one-timed shot turned aside by a diving Gale.
- At the opposite end of the pitch, Chyzowych turned aside a shot from Tobolski.
- The Statesmen continued to probe the Vassar defense, but the Brewers made several key decisions to step into shooting lanes and stop shots from getting to their goalkeeper.
- Hobart finally broke up the shutout bid in the 73rd minute when Leitner scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season off a Phillips free kick.
- One minute later, first-year Gabe Smith had a pair of chances blocked by a defender.
UP NEXT
Hobart will hit the road for the final time in the regular season next Saturday, Oct. 25, when they head to Schenectady to take on Union. The Liberty League contest is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
