The Hobart swimming and diving team will be back in action Oct. 31 and Nov. 1, when it welcomes Alfred on Friday and Monroe Community College and Herkimer County Community College on Saturday. The home opener is set to start at 4 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. start in Bristol Pool.
Hobart enters the weekend with a 0-3 record after falling to Nazareth, Ithaca and Worcester Polytechnic Institute last week.
Junior
Christopher Woody was named to the Liberty League Weekly Honor Roll after a strong week for the Statesmen. In the season-opener against Nazareth, Woody collected two wins, finishing first in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:14.37) and the 200 individual medley (2:35.34). Woody also finished second in the 50 breast (33.20) and the 200 medley relay (2:05.11).
Sophomore
Payton Owens also impressed for Hobart as he swam to a first-place finish in the 50 backstroke (35.95). Owens came second in the 400 freestyle (5:16.88) and the 800 free (11:09.44).
Sophomore
Gerard Humiston finished second in the 200 free (2:14.88) against the Golden Flyers. He added another second-place finish in the 100 free (1:00.37) and the 200 IM (2:37.95) for the Statesmen.
From the diving board, first-year
Steven Nolte led Hobart with his first collegiate win from the 1-meter board against Nazareth with a score of 102.5. He then finished fifth from the 3-meter board at Ithaca after scoring a 108.4.
The Saxons are 2-1 on the season and is coming off a 180-106 win against SUNY Brockport. Saturday will be the season openers for MCC and HCCC.
