William Smith enters the weekend with a 1-2 record. The Herons defeated Nazareth in their season-opener on Oct. 24.

Against the Golden Flyers, Morus took first place in the 800-meter freestyle (10:28.80). She added second place finishes in the 100 butterfly (1:13.11) and the 400 free (5:06.91). Morus also swam to a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay (2:13.44). She then added a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly (2:26.19) at the Ithaca Tri-Meet.

Sophomore Kaleigh Boynton also impressed last week, securing a win in the 50-meter breaststroke (38.43) against the Golden Flyers. Boynton added a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:23.72) and was a member of the medley relay team that finished second.

Sophomore Amalia Olivieri added a win in the 50 free (29.67) and a second-place finish in the 100 free (1:07.29) against the Golden Flyers. She joined junior Jayne Pearson and seniors Hali Seidberg and Lea Doufekias Emanuel for a first place finish in the 400-meter free relay (4:32.08) against Nazareth.

From the diving boards, the Herons were led by sophomore Fiona Garfield who finished second from the 1-meter board (227.90) and fourth from the 3-meter board (209.55) against the Golden Flyers. Garfield added a sixth place finish from the 1-meter board (205.20) at Ithaca.

The Herons will take on the 1-2 Saxons, who are coming off a 200-94 loss to SUNY Brockport. This will be the 22nd matchup between the Herons and the Saxons. William Smith holds a 15-7 advantage over Alfred. This will be the first meet of the season for both Monroe Community College and Herkimer County Community College.
