The Hobart football team begins a two-game road trip at Rochester on Saturday, Nov. 1. Kickoff between the Liberty League rivals is set for noon with the winner taking home the Centennial Cup.

  • Hobart 49, St. Lawrence 17, Boswell Field
  • Sophomore quarterback Jeremy Weiss enjoyed a career day, throwing for 329 yards and four touchdowns. He broke the Hobart game record for pass efficiency rating (316.7) and teamed up with sophomore wide receiver Jordan Nolan to break the Hobart record for longest pass play, a 96-yard second quarter TD.
  • The Statesmen defense, led by Jeron Atwater Jr.'s game-high eight tackles, limited the Saints to 194 yards and just a single, fourth quarter field goal. SLU's touchdowns came on defense and special teams.
 
  • Rochester 23, Buffalo State 3, Coyer Field
  • The Yellowjacket defense tamed the Tigers, limiting the home team to 213 yards and a solitary, second quarter field goal. Junior linebacker Jack Diggins (11), senior linebacker Daniel Santos (11) and senior linebacker Luke Herter (10) combined for 32 tackles.
  • Diggins also opened the game's scoring on a 70-yard interception return.
  • On the other side of the ball, UR rushed for 238 yards, including a game-high 104 yards from sophomore running back Cole Raux.
 
SERIES SNAPSHOT
  • This will be the 116th edition of the long-standing Hobart-Rochester rivalry with the winner laying claim to the Centennial Cup. Commissioned in honor of the 100th meeting between the programs in 2007, the Statesmen have won the Cup 16 of the 17 times it's been contested.
  • Overall, Hobart leads the series, which began in 1892, 61-48-7.
  • The Statesmen have won 13 in a row in the rivalry.
  • Rochester last topped Hobart 35-34 in double overtime in 2010.
  • The Statesmen haven't lost to the Yellowjackets in regulation since 2003.
