CLINTON, N.Y.—The Hobart squash team was defeated by 25th-ranked Hamilton 8-1 this afternoon. It was the season opener for both teams.
 
SERIES HISTORY

• The Statesmen lead the all-time series 48-34.
• Hamilton has won two straight against Hamilton.

 
FOR THE STATESMEN

• In his collegiate debut, Caio Pavia picked up the lone point for Hobart in the No. 2 spot. He beat Tobey Suratt, 7-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-6.
• Adam Le, who was also making his collegiate debut, won a game, but was edged, 11-7, 11-7, 9-11, 12-10.

 
FOR THE HOSTS

• Hamilton won the other seven matches in 3-0 sweeps.
