MIDDLEBURY, VT.—The Hobart squash team was defeated by 17th-ranked Middlebury 9-0 at the Bostwick Family Squash Center yesterday.  It was the Statesmen's second straight match against a top-25 opponent to open the season.

• The Panthers had eight 3-0 sweeps in the match.
• First-year Caio Paiva was in a tight match in the No. 2 spot before he retired. He lost the first game 14-12 and the second 11-7.

Hobart will be back in action on December 6, when it welcomes Chatham to the Smith Squash Center. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
