OSWEGO, N.Y.— The Hobart swimming and diving team traveled to SUNY Oswego this afternoon to compete in the Lake Effect Showdown. The Statesmen battled throughout the dual but fell to the Lakers 148-93.
Junior Christopher Woody once again paced Hobart, earning a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.66 and added another runner-up finish in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:32.68). Sophomore Gerard Humiston added key points with a third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:29.70) and a fourth-place effort in the 200 individual medley (2:22.96).
First-year Caleb Halpine continued to impress, touching the wall second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:08.06) and third in the 100 free (57.56). Sophomore Payton Owens placed second in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:27.38 and added a runner-up finish in the 1000-yard freestyle (12:21.38).
From the diving board, sophomore Endry Paulino Lora finished second on the one-meter with a score of 98.35 points.
Hobart's A-relay team of Humiston, Halpine and seniors Randall Dominguez and Jameson Ardis closed out the meet strong, taking second in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.98.

Hobart will return to action Saturday, Nov. 15, when the Statesmen travel to Canton, New York, to take on St. Lawrence. Action between the Statesmen and the Saints is set for 1 p.m.
