OSWEGO, N.Y.—The William Smith swimming and diving team traveled to Oswego this afternoon to compete in the Lake Effect Showdown. The Herons put together a strong all-around performance but fell to the Lakers 172-122.
Sophomore Bogi Olah led the way for William Smith, picking up a win in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:23.75 and another first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:06.25). First-year
Lark Sallade added a win of her own, touching first in the 200-yard individual medley (2:26.02) and placing third in the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.29).
Junior
Mackenzie Morus continued her standout season, finishing first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:23.92) and third in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:49.00). Sophomore
Aurora Donta-Venman placed fourth in the 1000 free (11:57.00) and helped the Herons' A-relay team to a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:53.75).
From the diving boards, sophomore
Fiona Garfield swept both events once again, taking first on the 3-meter board with a score of 213.35 and winning from the 1-meter with 211.35 points. Sophomore
Hannah Walsh and senior
Haley Levine rounded out the top three on the 1-meter with 166.60 and 158.80 points, respectively.

William Smith will return to action Saturday, Nov. 15, when it travels to St. Lawrence for a dual meet in Canton, New York. Action between the Herons and the Saints is set to begin at 1 p.m.
