The top-ranked Hobart hockey team concludes its four-game homestand, Feb. 14-15 when it welcomes New England College to The Cooler for a weekend series. Friday's game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and Saturday's game will start at 4 p.m. This weekend is also Hobart Hockey's alumni weekend.
 
Hobart is coming off a weekend sweep of Southern Maine. The Statesmen outscored the Huskies 14-2. Junior Tanner Daniels, recording five points on three goals and two assists on the weekend, earning NEHC Player of the Week honors.  Junior Mavrick Goyer earned Goaltender of the Week praise following Saturday's shutout.
 
New England College enters the weekend as one of the hotter teams in the league. The Pilgrims have won seven of their last eight to vault into a playoff position. Last weekend, NEC swept Elmira in New Hampshire, outscoring the Soaring Eagles 6-3.

ABOUT THE STATESMEN (20-1-0, 15-1-0 NEHC)

• Hobart is first in the NEHC standings with 46 points and secured the NEHC regular season title with last weekend's sweep.
• Daniels leads the Statesmen with 14 goals, 17 assists and 31 points. He is seventh in the nation in points per game (1.48), 13th in goals per game (0.67) and 23rd in assists per game (0.81).
• Senior Shane Shell is tied with Daniels for the team lead with 17 assists.
• Goaltenders Damon Beaver and Goyer have split time in net for the Statesmen. Goyer has a 1.00 GAA, a .949 save percentage, and five shutouts this season. ABOUT THE PILGRIMS (9-11-1, 8-7-1 NEHC)

• New England College enters the weekend in sixth place in the conference standings. The Pilgrims can clinch a playoff spot with a win this weekend or a UMass Boston loss in regulation.
• Three different Pilgrims share the team lead with 17 points each.
• David Novotny has a team-high 10 goals to go with seven assists.
• Jesper Tarkiainen has 12 assists.
• Anthony Beaulieu has played the majority of the minutes in goal for the Pilgrims. He is 9-9-1 with a 2.22 GAA and a .932 save percentage. He is 16th in the nation in save percentage.
