CANTON, N.Y.—The Hobart basketball team wrapped up a four-game Liberty League road trip with a 71-60 win at St. Lawrence this afternoon. The Statesmen dominated on the glass and earned 26 trips to the free throw line on the way to knocking off the Saints.
Sophomore
Alex Moesch paced Hobart with 14 points, including a 5-of-6 effort at the line. Senior
Carter Meshanic and first-year
Monty Nedd joined him in double digits, contributing 10 points apiece. Meshanic also dished out a game-high five assists. Senior
Hunter Meshanic and sophomore
Dorian Paki chipped in nine points each. Paki and senior
Aidan Rodgers shared team-high honors with seven rebounds apiece.
St. Lawrence got game-highs of 19 points and five steals from Dan Anderson. Adam Dudzinski added 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

- Hobart improved to 14-7 overall, 8-6 in league play.
- SLU fell to 12-8, 6-8.
KEY STATS
- Hobart outrebounded St. Lawrence 41-27, leading to a 24-9 advantage in second-chance points.
- The Statesmen made twice as many free throws (18) as the Saints attempted (9).
- Hobart's depth also factored into the win, as the Statesmen bench outscored St. Lawrence's 29-8.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Midway through the first half, Nedd drained a 3-pointer to give the Statesmen a 15-14 lead.
- St. Lawrence's Gavin Maculay put the home team back in front with a layup, but that proved to be the Saints final lead of the game.
- Paki's short jumper at the other end of the floor, put Hobart up one and touched off an 11-4 run by the visitors.
- Lutz fueled the surge with five points, including a 3-pointer.
- The Statesmen went into the break with a 33-26 lead.
- Near the midpoint of the second half, SLU used a 10-2 run to cut its deficit to just four. Dudzinski (7pts) and Anderson (3pts) accounted for all of the Saints' scoring.
- Hobart regained the momentum and built its largest lead with a 15-2 run. Moesch and Hunter Meshanic nailed 3-pointers during the run that put the visitors up 61-46.
- SLU clawed its way back to within five with just over a minute remaining, but Hobart went 6-for-67 at the free throw line in the final minute to seal the victory.
