The Hobart and William Smith sailing team was in Maryland this past weekend, March 15-16, for a pair of regattas. The weekend's action was highlighted by a sixth place finish at the St. Mary's Women's Inter-Conference Regatta in St. Mary's City Maryland.
HWS was also in Annapolis, Maryland, finishing 10th at the Graham Hall Team Race.
ST. MARY'S WOMEN'S INTER-CONFERENCE
- Sailors arrived to fog and no wind in St. Mary's, Maryland. Around noon a light southerly filled allowing two races in each Division. After a postponement, the fog burned off and two more races were contested.
- Sunday was a great day of racing with breezes in the teens.
- William Smith finished sixth with 178 points.
- In A Division, senior Elizabeth Starck and first-year Sabrina Starck had 85 points, finishing fifth. They compiled nine top ten finishes.
- First-years Deana Fedulova and Olivia Wilkins sailed in B Division, placing seventh. They had 93 points and were in the top-10 eight times.

HWS will be back in action next weekend, March 22-23, when it competes in three regattas. They will compete in Kings Point, New York, at the KP Open Team Race and Throggs Neck, New York, at the Admiral Moore Open Team Race. William Smith sailors will be in Washington, D.C., at the Georgetown Women's Team Race.
