ORLANDO, Fla.— The William Smith tennis team delivered a dominant performance at the USTA National Tennis Center Sunday morning as it swept Indiana University Kokomo 7-0 to open its spring break trip in the Sunshine State. The Herons controlled the match from start to finish, securing the doubles point before sweeping all six singles matches in straight sets.

In doubles action, the No. 2 pairing of senior Julia Pida and junior Maddy Buck claimed a 6-4 victory over Kennedy Perrin and Chloe Schmidt, while senior Emma Johnston and sophomore Teghan Torrey clinched the point with a 6-4 win at No. 3 over Mia Federspill and Graciella Solis.

The Herons carried their momentum into singles play, winning all six matches in straight sets. At No. 1, junior Haley Levine powered past Ava Allen 6-3, 6-1, to claim her second victory of the season in dual match play. Sophomore Mae Kellersman followed with a hard-fought 6-4, 6-4 victory over Reiley Hiser in the No. 2 spot.

In the No. 3 spot, sophomore Grace Magna secured a 6-4, 7-6 win against Schmidt. She is now 2-2 in dual match play this season. First-year Bethany Walker cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Perrin at No. 4, while first-year Mia Jacobs defeated Federspill 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 5 position.

At No. 6, senior Mia Tetrault won the first set 6-4 before her opponent, Solis, retired in the second. Tetrault now sits at 3-2 in singles play this season and is 1-0 in dual match play.
