UPDATE: Statesmen head to Utica for championship weekend

The top-ranked Hobart hockey team will head to Utica University for the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship weekend, March 28-30. In Friday's first semifinal, the Statesmen will take on fourth-ranked Geneseo at the Utica University Nexus Center. Faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
 
Tickets for the semifinals will be sold online.  Tickets are $15 for all seating and $10 for standing room only. Please note that each semifinal game is a separate ticket. The building will be cleared between games and fans planning to attend both games need to purchase a ticket to each. Tickets will go on sale to the general public Wednesday starting at noon. Tickets will go fast and can be purchased here.
 
The second semifinal will feature the host Pioneers, who are sixth in the USCHO.com poll and second-ranked Curry at 7 p.m.  The semifinal winners will advance to the national championship game on Sunday at 7 p.m.
 
Tickets for Sunday's game can also be purchased online.
 
After defeating Trine 3-2 in overtime on Saturday, Hobart (27-1-1) advanced to the national semifinals for the sixth time. The Statesmen rallied from a 2-0 deficit with two third-period goals to force the extra session. At the 9:15 mark of the overtime period, senior captain Luke Aquaro ripped a shot over the goalie's right shoulder into the upper left corner of the cage.
 
Geneseo (24-4-1) overcame a 3-0 deficit to knock off Aurora 7-4 on Saturday. The Knights are making their fifth appearance at championship weekend and their first since 2021-22.
