GENEVA, N.Y.—The top-ranked Hobart hockey team defeated New England College 2-0 in a New England Hockey Conference semifinal game at The Cooler this evening. With the win, the Statesmen are now 25-1-1 overall this season.

Mavrick Goyer played all 60 minutes in goal and made 15 saves as he earned his seventh shutout of the season.
Anthony Beaulieu played just over 58 minutes in goal for the Pilgrims. He made 35 saves. New England College concludes their season with an 11-15-1 overall record.

- Hobart has won an NCAA Division III record 51 straight games at The Cooler.
- Goyer has allowed just one goal in his last four starts and posted back-to-back shutouts for the second time this season.

- With today's shutout, Goyer matched Hobart's single-season record. Damon Beaver had seven shutouts in 2022-23 and 2023-24.

GAME MOMENTS
- Hobart opened the scoring at the 12:10 mark of the first period. Daniels picked up a puck in the slot and wristed a shot past the NEC goalie. His 17th goal of the season was assisted by Aquaro and senior Shane Shell.
- Schimizzi gave the Statesmen a 2-0 lead at the 12:10 mark of the second period. He snapped a shot from a tight angle past Beaulieu for his eighth goal of the year. The power-play goal was assisted by sophomores Conor Lally and Bauer Morrissey.
- The Statesmen also hit a pair of goalposts. Lally rang one off of the right goal post four minutes into the game and junior Tristan Fasig hit the left goal post in the third period.
UP NEXT
With the win, Hobart secured a spot in the NEHC title game for the third straight year. The Statesmen will take on Norwich, which defeated Skidmore 3-2 in today's second semifinal game. Faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. at The Cooler.
