The William Smith sailing team was back on the water this weekend, March 29-30, when it travelled to Annapolis, Maryland to compete in the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Associtation Women's Dinghy Championships hosted by Navy.
DINGHY CHAMPIONSHIPS
- The Herons finished the regatta in seventh place, finishing the weekend with 212 total points.
- Saturday's racing started in 7-15 knot winds out of the southwest. After a break, the wind became a little more unstable and four more races were contested. Sunday started in a delay but a 10-15 knot wind built out of the south.
- The A division team featured senior Elizabeth Starck as skipper, with sophomore Ella Donaldson and first-year Sabrina Starck competing as crew.
- The trio finished eighth with 109 points, including placing in the top 10 in 13 races.
- The B division team was comprised of first years Deana Fedulova and Olivia Wilkins. Fedulova was the skipper and Wilkins was crew.
- They finished eighth with 103 points. The duo ended the weekend with seven top-5 finishes, including two first place finishes.

HWS sailing is back in action next weekend, April 5-6, when they return to Annapolis to compete for the Prosser Trophy, the MAISA conference championship.
