Taryn Luzi scored a career-high seven goals as the 10th-ranked Heron lacrosse team cruised to a 21-8 victory over Vassar in a Liberty League contest on Weinberg Field this afternoon. With their seventh-straight win, William Smith improved to 12-3 overall this season and remained unbeaten in Liberty League play.

Kate Colvin scored three goals and had a game-high eight draw controls. Sophomore
Kayla Quirk contributed at both ends of the field, finishing with two goals, six draw controls and a game-high three caused turnovers. Junior defender

Maura Smeader played all 60 minutes in goal and had three saves.
Tess Billings led the way for the Brewers (10-5, 5-5), scoring three goals. She also had four draw controls. Sigrid Fredlund (2g, 1a) and Reilly Mulcahy (2g, 1a) had three points each. Bess MacMullen played just over 51 minutes in goal and made nine saves. Cassidy Schuchat made one save in nine minutes of work.

- William Smith jumped out to a 2-0 lead five minutes into the game and never looked back. Murray and Luzi had unassisted goals to open the scoring. It was their 43rd and 18th goals of the season, respectively.
- Vassar made it 2-1 on Elizabeth Burgess' 26th goal of the season, but that would be as close as the Brewers would get.
- Luzi scored the next two goals for William Smith, making it 4-1 with 6:48 left in the first quarter. Her second goal of the game was unassisted. Murray set up the goal that completed the first quarter hat trick.

- Vassar had the game's next three goals, shrinking the gap to 11-6 with two minutes remaining in the half. Mulcahy, Billings and Fredlund notched goals for the Brewers.
- Murray completed her hat trick with one minute left in the first half.
- Billings' third goal of the game came one minute into the fourth quarter. It was assisted by Emilia DiLiberto. Vassar would only get one more goal in the final 29 minutes of regulation. Mulcahy had the tally with 8:27 left in the third quarter.
- The Herons closed out the game on a 9-1 run and had the final seven goals of the game. Colvin completed her hat trick three minutes into the third quarter. Ninety seconds later, first-year Maeve Barrins notched her third goal of the season, burying a feed from Falco. Luzi then rattled off a natural hat trick, scoring the game's next three goals. Falco set up two of the goals and Fulton set up the third.
- Quirk notched two goals in the final 11 minutes of regulation. They were her 13th and 14th goals of the season. Junior Delaney Cassidy and first-year Cynthia Lyman also scored in the fourth quarter. It was their eighth and third goal of the year, respectively.

- With three goals today, Katherine Murray now has 148 career goals. She is now ninth on William Smith's career goals list.
- Murray now has 196 career points. She is 12th on the Herons' career list. She also moved up to 20th on William Smith's career assists list with 48.

William Smith will be back in action on Friday, May 2, when it hosts one of two Liberty League semifinals. As the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, the Herons earned the lone first-round bye. Their opponent will be determined following Tuesday's quarterfinals.
