Statesmen begin homestand against Brockport

The Hobart soccer team begins a three-game homestand tomorrow, Sept. 16, when it welcomes Brockport to Cozzens Field. The non-conference contest is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
 
The Statesmen enter the week with a 4-0-1 overall record and are coming off a 1-1 tie with Rochester on Saturday night.
 
The Golden Eagles are 1-3-1 overall. Brockport is looking to snap a three-game losing streak after losing its Empire 8 opener to Russel Sage on Saturday.

ABOUT THE STATESMEN
  • Sophomore Brady Leitner leads the team with four goals and eight points. He was named to the Liberty League weekly honor roll following his two-goal performance against Utica.
  • Sophomore Griffin Coutts has a team-high two assists.  
  • Senior Tommy Chyzowych has played a majority of the minutes in goal. He is 3-0-1 with a 0.50 GAA, an .846 save percentage and two shutouts.
  • Hobart is eighth in the nation in corner kicks per game (8.60) and 22nd in GAA (0.400).
 
ABOUT THE GOLDEN EAGLES
  • Ryan Mathis leads Brockport with five points. He shares the team lead with Peter Tinaj with two goals each.
  • Trevor Lagare leads the team with two assists.
  • Matthew Sadison has played the majority of minutes in goal for the Golden Eagles. He is 1-2-1 this season with a 1.75 GAA and a .632  save percentage.  
 
SEREIS HISTORY
  • Tomorrow's game is the 18th meeting between Hobart and Brockport, but the first since 2013.
  • Hobart leads the all-time series 9-6-1, including a 5-2-0 edge in Geneva.
  • Brockport won the last meeting 2-0 in 2013 in Brockport.
