#25 Hobart travels to Bard Saturday

The 25th-ranked Hobart soccer team will hit the road this Saturday, Sept. 27, when it begins a three-game road trip at Bard. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the Ferrari Soccer and Lacrosse Complex in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York.
 
The Statesmen (6-0-2) are off to their best start to a season since 2011, when they went 7-1-0 in the first eight games. Following Wednesday's 1-1 draw with RIT, Hobart is 1-0-1 in Liberty League play. Senior Quinn Phillips scored Hobart's goal on a penalty kick. Sophomore goalie Jake Hans had a career-high four saves against the Tigers.
 
The Raptors are 7-1-0 overall this season. Saturday's match will be the league opener for Bard. The Raptors are coming off a 3-0 win over Morrisville on Sept. 20.

  • Sophomore Brady Leitner leads the team with six goals and 12 points this season.

  • Mateo Betelu leads the team with 18 points on seven goals and four assists.
  • Luca Costanzo has 10 points on four goals and two assists.
  • Emmett Olson leads the team with five assists.
  • Julian Landau and Jake Sudit have split time in goal. Landau is 4-1-0 with a 0.25 GAA and a .917 save percentage. Sudit is 3-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and a .733 save percentage.
 
SERIES HISTORY
  • This will be the 14th meeting between Hobart and Bard.
  • The Statesmen lead the all-time series 12-0-1, including a 6-0-0 mark at Bard.
  • Hobart won last year's match in Annandale-on-Hudson 3-1. Leitner had a pair of goals and Keegan Mulroony added three points on a goal and an assist.
