TRUXTON, N.Y.—The Hobart Alpine skiing team competed in week two of USCSA action on Labrador Mountain over the weekend. The Statesmen raced to a second place finish out of 13 teams in Saturday's slalom before Sunday's giant slalom race was canceled due to the winter storm. Hobart remains in first place in the USCSA Mideast Conference standings with four points.
In Saturday's slalom race, which included 73 racers, Hobart produced four top 20 finishers for a combined team race time of 4:27.03. First-year
Zachary Wargo led the Statesmen with a third-place finish after stopping the clock at 1:25.71. Senior
Jack Meagher added a 10th place finish after stopping the clock at 1:30.64, while sophomore
Jake Labanowski followed in 11th with a time of 1:30.68. Sophomore
Will Patton rounded out Hobart's top four finishers with a 14th place finish after crossing the finish line at 1:32.51.

The Statesmen will be back in action next weekend for week three of USCSA action. The weekend will kick off with the giant slalom on Saturday, Jan. 24, at 9 a.m. on Bristol Mountain. Sunday's slalom races will be the following day at 9 a.m.
