Herons face Bengals in weekend series

The William Smith hockey team will be back in action this weekend, Jan. 30-31, when it takes on SUNYAC travel partner Buffalo State in a home-and-home series. The Herons will be at Buffalo State on Friday at 3 p.m. On Saturday, the teams will meet at The Cooler at 7 p.m.
 
Saturday's game will be Hockey Fights Cancer Night at The Cooler. The Herons will be raising money throughout the weekend to support the American Cancer Society.
 
William Smith enters this weekend with an 8-9-0 record. The Herons are 4-2-0 in SUNYAC play. William Smith beat Morrisville 4-1 on Saturday.
 
Buffalo State is 10-6-1 with a 2-4-0 record in conference play. The Bengals are looking to bounce back from a 5-4 loss to Cortland last Saturday.

  • William Smith is tied for second in the league standings with eight points.
  • Sophomore Bella Hacker leads the Herons with 10 points on six goals and four assists.

  • This will be the 13th and 14th meetings between the Herons and the Bengals.
