GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart basketball team will return to Bristol Gym for a pair of Liberty League games this weekend. The Statesmen will play for the first time in nearly four weeks when they host Skidmore on Friday, Jan. 9 and return to action the following afternoon against RIT.
Friday's contest is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. with Saturday slated for a 4 p.m. start. Both games will be webcast on HWS All-Access.
On Saturday, Hobart will welcome groups from the Geneva Free Library and the Geneva YMCA Youth Basketball program. The Statesmen are long-standing supporters of the library's annual book sale, with players assisting with setup and breakdown of the event. Hobart is also active in the community, supporting youth basketball teams around the area with free clinics.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOBART
- RECORD: 8-2 overall, 2-1 in Liberty League
- LAST TIME OUT: Hobart defeated Utica 66-53 on Dec. 13 to close out the 2025 portion of its schedule. Monty Nedd and Dorian Paki led the charge against the Pioneers, combining for 37 points and 18 rebounds.
- The Statesmen are among the national leaders in defensive rebounds (15th, 30.7/g) and field goal percentage defense (24th, 38.8).
- Nedd finished the calendar year on a tear, earning a spot on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week. Through 10 games, he leads Hobart in scoring (15.9), rebounding (6.1), assists (4.2) and steals (2.9).

- LAST TIME OUT: Skidmore is coming off an 83-71 win over Coast Guard in the consolation game of the Guilford Holiday Classic on Dec. 30. Aidan Roy scored a game-high 22 points, while Joey Skoric added a double-double on 18 points and a game-high 13 boards.
