GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart basketball team, led by sophomore
Allen Mordi's career-high 24 points, earned an 86-70 Liberty League win over Skidmore College in Bristol Gymnasium tonight. The Statesmen picked up their third straight win to improve to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the league. Skidmore slipped to 5-5 overall, 1-2 in league play.
The game featured seven lead changes and eight ties, all in the first half. Hobart junior
Alex Moesch's 3-pointer off an assist from
Justin Price, was the last basket of the opening 20 minutes and sent the home team into the break with a 42-39 lead.
Five minutes into the second half, the Statesmen were clinging to 1-point lead. Hobart scored the next eight points to take control of the game. Mordi scored half of the points in the run, helping stretch Hobart's lead to 58-49. Hampered by foul trouble, the Thoroughbreds trailed by at least two possessions for the remainder of the contest.
HOBART HIGHLIGHTS
- Mordi was locked in, making 9-of-11 shots from the floor, including all four of his 3-point attempts.
- Sophomore Monty Nedd added 16 points and a game-high six assists.
- Moesch contributed 11 points and five rebounds.
- Junior Dorian Paki chipped in 10 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
- The Statesmen shot 47.5% from the floor, making eight 3-pointers.
- Hobart also made more free throws (22) than the visitors attempted (20).
- The Statesmen got 40 points from their bench, 25 more than the Thoroughbreds.

PACING THE THOROUGHBREDS
- Skidmore's Aidan Roy finished with a game-high 27 points, making 9-of-21 from the floor, including 4-of-11 from deep. He also led the team with six rebounds and five assists.
- Joey Skoric added 11 points and five rebounds before fouling out with 5:36 remaining.

- Hobart has won five in a row over Skidmore and improved to 47-23 all-time against the Thoroughbreds.
