GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart football team will host Ithaca in a key Liberty League matchup on Saturday, Oct. 3 during Homecoming and Family Weekend at HWS. The game is set to kick off at 1 p.m.
All fans are encouraged to wear orange in support of the Statesmen. The first 500 fans will receive a free orange Hobart Homecoming T-shirt. General admission tickets are $5.
The game will be webcast on HWS All-Access and broadcast on campus radio station WHWS-FM (105.7).
THE TEAMS
- Hobart is 2-2 overall, 0-1 in Liberty League play. The Statesmen began the season with back-to-back wins at home before dropping two in a row on the road.
- Ithaca brings a 3-1 record to Geneva, including a 2-0 mark in conference play. The Bombers lost their opener at Johns Hopkins, but have since won three straight at home.
SERIES SNAPSHOT
- The game will be the 39th meeting between Hobart and Ithaca in a series that began in 1961. The Bombers lead the series 32-6. Ithaca won last year's meeting 13-7 in Ithaca. As conference opponents (since 2017), Ithaca is 7-1 against Hobart.
- Hobart last defeated the Bombers during HWS Homecoming and Family Weekend in 2024, prevailing 16-7.
HOBART PLAYERS TO WATCH
- Junior quarterback Jeremy Weiss is scheduled to make his second straight start in place of the injured Aidan Conrath. Last week at RPI, he was 15-of-37 passing for 126 yards and a TD.
- Senior E.J. Taylor is averaging a league-leading 141.3 all purpose yards out of the backfield. Through four games, he has 388 rushing yards and three TDs to go with a team-high 12 receptions for a team-high 177 yards and two touchdowns.
- Junior wide receiver Johnny Harding has caught at least one pass in all 25 games he's played at Hobart, the fourth-longest streak in program history. He has 10 receptions for 71 yards and three TDs in three games this season.
- Senior cornerback Zeshan Dixon leads the defense with 32 tackles and four interceptions. He's second in the nation in interceptions per game (1.0).
ITHACA PLAYERS TO WATCH
- Quarterback Michael Reed has completed 53% of his passes for 834 yards and nine touchdowns. He also leads the Bombers with 284 rushing yards.
- Receiver Nicholas Lang leads the league with 21 receptions for 425 yards and five TDs.
- Defensive backs Joe Spirra and Andrew Swierbut are tied for the team lead with 26 tackles apiece.

- During halftime, fans will be treated to a performance by the HWS Kinetic Dance Collective followed by an on-field corgi race.
