SCOUTING THE STATESMEN
  • Hobart is 2-3 overall, 0-2 in the Liberty League.
  • The Statesmen opened the season with consecutive home wins over Alfred and Brockport, but have suffered three straight defeats to Utica, RPI and Ithaca. The losses to the Pioneers and Bombers were both by just one touchdown.
  • Hobart leads the Liberty League in sacks (18) and interceptions (6). The Statesmen have already matched their sack production from last season and are on pace to eclipse their interceptions total as well.
  • Individually, senior defensive tackle Hunter Vos is second in the league with five sacks (26th in the nation), while senior cornerback Zeshan Dixon is the only player in the league with more than one interception. His four picks rank ninth in the nation.
  • Senior running back E.J. Taylor is second in the league in rushing yards with 485. He also has team-highs in receptions (16) and receiving yards (215).
  • Junior wide receiver Johnny Harding has 13 catches for 189 yards and a team-high four touchdowns. He's caught at least one pass in all 26 games he's played at Hobart, tied for the third-longest streak in program history.
  • Junior quarterback Jeremy Weiss is penciled in to make his third straight start. He's thrown for 413 yards and two touchdowns over the past two weeks.

SCOUTING THE GARNET CHARGERS
  • Union brings a 3-2 record to Geneva, including a 2-0 mark in the league.
  • The Garnet Chargers dropped their first two games of the season to nationally ranked Susquehanna and Cortland, but have rebounded with three straight wins, including dominant Liberty League victories over Buffalo State and St. Lawrence.
  • Union's defense is one of two in the Liberty League holding opponents under 300 yards per game (277.2). The Garnet Chargers have been particularly difficult to beat through the air where they've allowed a league-low 154.8 yards per game.
  • Union is tied with Hobart for the league lead with six interceptions. The Garnet Chargers have returned four of their picks for touchdowns, tied for first in the nation.
  • Senior defensive end Jordan Black is tied for the league lead in tackles for loss with 8.5. Hobart's Billy Brosko and Rochester's Rhys Lewis also have 8.5.
  • Junior quarterback Luke Sheehan has completed 60% of his passes for 661 yards and nine touchdowns.

  • The home team has won each of the past nine meetings in the series and Hobart has won seven in a row over Union on Boswell Field.
