The Hobart Alpine skiing team competed in week four of USCSA action on West Mountain over the weekend. The Statesmen finished 7th out of 13 teams in the giant slalom and bounced back with a first-place finish of 13 teams in the slalom the following day. Hobart remains in first place in the Mideast Conference standings with 14 points.

In Saturday's giant slalom, which included 67 racers, Hobart produced two top 10 finishers, but its other four racers did not finish the race. SophomoreÂ
Jake Labanowski finished with a combined race time of 2:07.97 to secure a fourth-place finish for the Statesmen, while first-year
Ben Bush followed in ninth place, stopping the clock at 2:11.49.

In Sunday's slalom, Hobart bounced back and produced seven Statesmen in the top 15 to claim first place in the team standings by over 8 seconds. Sophomore
Will Patton finished second with a combined race time of 1:03.79, while first-yearÂ
Zachary Wargo notched a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:05.59. Junior
Ethan Hine followed close behind in fifth, crossing the line at 1:05.64 while Labanowski finished with a combined time of 1:07.10, securing sixth place. Senior
Luke Ward raced to 11th place with a time of 1:08.32 and was followed by classmate
Jack Ross in 12th after crossing the finish line at 1:08.40. Senior
Jack Meagher rounded out the top Statesmen finishers with a 14th place finish and a time of 1:08.91.

Hobart will be back in action next weekend for the final week of the USCSA regular season. The Statesmen will race the giant slalom event on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 9 a.m. and the slalom on Sunday at 9 a.m. on Labrador Mountain.
