Hobart hosts St. Norbert in NCAA quarterfinal

The top-ranked Hobart hockey team resumes its quest for its fourth consecutive national championship this Saturday, March 21 when it welcomes second-ranked St. Norbert to The Cooler for an NCAA quarterfinal contest. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
 
Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for students with ID and $3 for children ages 3-11, children 2 and under get in free. HWS students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid OneCard courtesy of HWS Athletics and the SAA. Tickets can be purchased at the door on gameday or online here. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
 
The Statesmen enter the weekend with a 28-0-0 overall record. Hobart earned a first-round bye in the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Championship.
 
The Statesmen defeated Oswego 4-0 in the SUNYAC Championship Game to claim the league's automatic bid. Senior Dominic Schimizzi factored into three of Hobart's four goals, scoring twice. Senior Damon Beaver stopped all 30 shots he faced as he earned the shutout. 
 
The Green Knights are 22-6-2 overall after defeating seventh-ranked University of New England 5-4 in a thrilling first round game last Saturday. Jack Christen scored the game-winning goal with 12.1 seconds remaining.  
 
This will be just the second meeting between Hobart and St. Norbert. The Green Knights won 5-4 in a national semifinal back in 2006 just down Route 14 in Elmira.
 
Fans who cannot make the trip to Geneva can follow all the action with Live Stats and Live Video. The game will also be broadcast on WHWS-FM (105.7 in Geneva).
