Two members of the Hobart squash team received All-Liberty League recognition today. Senior

Caio Paiva were both voted to the second team.

The duo led Hobart to a third place finish at the Conroy Cup at the College Squash Association Team Divisional Championships. The Statesmen also finished sixth at the Liberty League squash championships.

A captain, De La Vega led Hobart with nine wins. He played 20 matches in the No. 3 spot and won eight times. De La Vega won six of his final seven matches of the year, including all four matches at the CSA Divisional Championships. He posted two 3-0 sweeps on the weekend, beating Fordham's Adam Sakr, 11-4, 11-4, 11-8, and Connecticut College's Noah Fish, 11-7, 11-4, 11-5. He beat Haverford's Ben Levy in four games and Vassar's Kyle Benson in five games. At the conference championship, De La Vega was 2-1, beating Bard's Jonas Erasmus, 11-4, 11-5, 11-6, and Benson, 11-5, 14-11, 13-11-, 11-6. De La Vega also beat Benson during the regular season.Â

De La Vega earns All-Liberty League recognition for the second time. He earned honorable mention recognition as a sophomore. De La Vega finished his career with 35 wins.

Paiva had a strong rookie season winning seven matches. He won three times in the No. 1 spot and four times in the No. 2 spot. Paiva went 3-1 at the No. 1 spot in the CSA Divisional Championships. He rallied to beat Haverford's Aaryaman Jasising, 11-9, 7-11, 2-11, 12-10, 11-7. He then beat Fordam's Nicholas Gilman, 7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 12-10. He also posted a 3-2 win against Vassar's top player. Paiva was 1-1 at No. 2 in the Liberty League Championship. He won his first collegiate match in his collegiate debut, dispatching Hamilton's Tobey Suratt, 7-11, 11-8, 11-6, 11-6.
