PITTSBURGH, PA—The second-seeded William Smith bowling team began its quest for the 2026 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship with a 2-0 mega match victory over third-seeded Alvernia this afternoon.

Colleen Jump led the Herons to the opening point with a 247 game, tied for the fourth highest game in program history. First-year
Natalie Yale added a 193 as the Herons prevailed 967-780. In the Baker match, William Smith secured the mega match win with an 864-824 win. With the win, William Smith improved to 52-30 on the season.
The AMCC Championship continues Saturday morning with third round action beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Herons will battle top-seeded Saint Vincent with the winner advancing to Championship Sunday. The loser will play again in the fourth round Saturday afternoon against the winner of Saturday morning's Alvernia vs. Hilbert match.
