PITTSBURGH, Pa.—The William Smith bowling team saw its quest for the 2026 AMCC Championship come to an end today. The Herons suffered a 2-0 mega match loss to top-seeded Saint Vincent in the morning and a 2-1 loss to third-seeded Alvernia in the afternoon.
Junior
Colleen Jump was named to the All-Tournament Team. She averaged a team-high 221.67 in three traditional games.
Against the Bearcats, Saint Vincent won the traditional match by 31 pins, 988-957. Senior
Caitlyn Anschutz led the Herons with a 213 game. Jump added a 192 with
Brooke Gervais contributing a 191. The Bearcats won an even tighter Baker maker match 934-912, to sweep the mega match.
Against the Golden Wolves, the Herons got off to a good start, taking the opening point 958-823. Jump bowled a team-high 226 with Gervais notching a 201 and Anschutz logging a 195. Alvernia fought back to take the Baker point 932-875 sending the mega match to a Baker Best of 7. William Smith led two games to one when the Golden Wolves got hot and won the next three to advance to championship Sunday.
The Herons finished their fourth varsity season with a record of 52-32, raising the program standard for wins in a season.
