ITHACA, N.Y.—The Hobart baseball team fell at Ithaca by a final score of 9-4 at Freeman Field this afternoon. Despite outhitting the Bombers 13-10, the Statesmen couldn't overcome Ithaca's five-run surge in the final three innings.

Cole Conte led Hobart with three hits and scored twice. Senior

Jack O'Neil each contributed two hits. Senior
Aaron Forgues got the start, allowing four earned runs on five hits, while striking out five in five innings.
The Statesmen opened the scoring in the top of the third when Garvin singled through the left side to bring senior
Christian Petry home.
The Bombers countered with two runs in the bottom of the inning, tying the game on a safety squeeze and seizing the lead on Ethan Fantel's RBI single. Fantel was 4-for-5 with two doubles to pace Ithaca.
Ithaca stretched its lead to 4-1 by the end of the fifth.
Hobart rallied for two runs in the sixth. First-year
Quinn Dashefsky's RBI double scored Conte and junior
Jack Byrnes followed with a sacrifice fly to make it a 4-3 game.
Ithaca seized control in the seventh inning. The Bombers loaded the bases and Matt Curtis singled up the middle to score two. Jake Alfano followed with a pinch-hit RBI single to make it 7-3.
In the eighth, Hobart loaded the bases with no outs, but managed only one run as O'Neil's RBI single was the sole breakthrough.
Game Notes:
- Garvin extended his hitting streak to 16 straight games.
- Three Statesmen have reached base safely in 20 or more consecutive games (Garvin 24, Christian Petry 20, Jack Farnen 20).
Hobart has an overall record of 24-10, 8-4 in the Liberty League. Ithaca is 18-12, 7-6 in the conference.
The Statesmen and Bombers will play a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 24 at McDonough Park in Geneva.
