The Heron Society is now accepting nominations for competitors and contributors whose accomplishments and commitment have significantly advanced William Smith Athletics for induction into the William Smith Heron Hall of Honor.

Use THIS FORM to submit nominations online. Nominations are always accepted, but to be considered for the Heron Hall of Honor Class of 2027, nominations must be submitted no later than July 31, 2026.

Athletes nominated to the Heron Hall of Honor must have:

• graduated from William Smith,
• be five years removed from their final season of athletic competition at William Smith,
• participated in at least one sport at William Smith,
• been in good academic standing and disciplinary standing while as a student, and,
• demonstrated outstanding achievement in athletics.

The following criteria will be considered for staff nominated to the Heron Hall of Honor:

• a minimum of 10 years of service to William Smith Athletics or at least 50 years old,
• team records,
• honors from peers and professional organizations, and,
• overall contributions and service to William Smith Athletics.

Former staff members are eligible upon their retirement or if they leave to assume other employment. Former staff members must have been an employee in good standing during their tenure and continued to be a citizen in good standing following their departure from William Smith.

Others will be considered based on their overall contributions and service to William Smith Athletics.
