GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart and William Smith Head Sailing Coach Scott Iklé '84 recently announced that Sarah Smith '22 will join his staff for the 2026-27 season.

"It is with great pleasure that Dan and I welcome back HWS sailing alum Sarah Smith '22 to the Colleges this fall to serve as assistant coach," Iklé said. "She is eager to return to Geneva and we look forward to working with her this season."

As a sophomore, Smith was named to the All-MAISA Crews team. She sailed in seven regattas and helped HWS win the George Washington Team Race and the David Lee Arnoff Trophy.

During her four-year career, Smith sailed in 41 regattas. She competed in four national championships, including an 11th place finish in the 2022 Open Fleet Race Championship in New Orleans. Smith earned ICSA All-Academic Honors following her senior season.
