BROCKPORT, N.Y.—Hobart senior
Quinn Phillips scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute as the 14th-ranked Statesmen defeated Brockport 2-1 in a non-conference contest on A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field this afternoon. With the win, Hobart improves to 6-0-0 for the first time since 2011.

Jake Hans started in goal for Hobart. He made three saves.
Khadim Amar scored for the Golden Eagles (1-3-1). AJ Nelson played all 90 minutes in goal and made six saves.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Hobart finished the game with a 14-6 advantage in shots.
- The Statesmen defense smothered the Golden Eagles in the second half, holding them without a shot in the second half.
- Brockport had three corner kicks, and Hobart had one.
SCORING SUMMARY
- Hobart opened the scoring in the 22nd minute on its lone corner kick of the game. Arner headed home a cross from junior Griffin Coutts for his first collegiate goal. The assist extended Coutts' point streak to six games.
- Brockport tied the game in the 44th minute. Amar collected a bouncing ball in the box and chipped a shot past Hans. Ryan Mathis and Trevor Lagarde had assists on the goal.
- Phillips' game-winning goal came on a free kick at the top of the penalty arc. His worm-burner skittered under the Brockport wall and past Nelson's outstretched arms. It was his second goal of the season.
DISH MASTER
- Coutts, who entered the game first in the nation in assists and assists per game (1.40), now has eight helpers on the year.
- With today's assist, he moved into a tie for eighth on Hobart's single-season list with Marco Ronning. Ronning had eight assists in 19 games in 2014.

UP NEXT
Hobart will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 19, when it heads to the North Country to take on St. Lawrence. The Liberty League opener for both teams is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Sandy MacAllaster Field.
