The 16th-ranked William Smith soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 16, when it begins a six-game road trip against Geneseo. The non-conference contest is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
 
The Herons, who jumped into the IWSOC/United Soccer Coaches Poll after being unranked in the preseason, are 3-1-0 to start the year. William Smith is coming off a 2-1 victory over then No. 21 Carnegie Mellon on Sunday. Charlotte Brown and Grace Sudbay scored for the Herons and Antonia Goerke made a career-high nine saves in the victory.

The Knights enter the week with a 2-1-1 record. Geneseo is coming off a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Alfred State on Saturday. The Knights scored twice in the second half to rally for the win.
