The 21st-ranked Hobart soccer team will be back in action on Saturday, Sept. 26, when it begins a four-game homestand against Liberty League foe Bard. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m. on Cozzens Field.
 
Hobart enters the weekend with a 7-1-0 record and a 1-1-0 mark in league play after a strong 4-1 win over RIT on Wednesday. Junior Brady Leitner led the Statesmen with two goals. Right behind him were juniors Will Slayton and Danny Spataro, who had three points each on a goal and an assist.
 
Bard is 7-0-0 to start the year. Saturday will be its Liberty League opener. Last week, the Raptors beat Morrisville 2-0. Wolfe Ginsberg and Bennett Hathaway each had a goal.

ABOUT THE STATESMEN

• Junior Griffin Coutts leads Hobart with 11 points on a goal and nine assists. Coutts has recorded at least one point in seven of Hobart's eight games and has contributed to 10 of the team's 17 goals. Coming into the weekend, Coutts leads the nation in assists and assists per game (1.13).
• Leitner holds the team lead in goals with four and is second in points with eight.
