ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.—The 17th-ranked William Smith soccer team scored a goal in each half as it defeated Bard 2-0 in a Liberty League contest at Lorenzo Ferrari Soccer & Lacrosse Complex this afternoon. With the victory, the Herons improve to 5-3-0 on the year with a 1-0-0 mark in conference play.

Sevilla Anderson each played 45 minutes in goal. They combined for one save in the shutout.
Julianna LaFond and Thayden Hamilton-Howard each played a half in the Bard goal. They combined for 12 saves.

SCORING SUMMARY
- Sudbay opened the scoring in the fourth minute. She stole the ball from a Bard defender at the top of the 18-yard box, dribbled to her right and fired a shot past the goalie. It was her second goal of the season.
- Schneider scored her first career goal in the 88th minute. First-year Lea Bryant picked up a rebound in the 18-yard box and slid a pass to Schneider, who fired a low line drive into the lower right corner of the cage.
MATCH MOMENTS
- Following Sudbay's goal, junior Grace Metzler nearly made it a two-goal game, but her shot was stopped by Hamilton-Howard.
- Sophomore Addison Stockwin also had a shot stopped by the Raptors' goalie.
- In the 40th minute, Rachel Lee's shot was smothered by Hamilton-Howard.
- Bard's best chance came in the 50th minute, but Melania Hracs' shot was stopped by Anderson.
- Metzler hit the left goalpost in the 76th minute, keeping it a one-goal game at the time.
