The William Smith field hockey team will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 29, when it hosts non-conference foe, No. 10 Hamilton at 6 p.m. on McCooey Field.

ABOUT THE HERONS: 

• William Smith enters the week with a 4-5 record and is coming off a 3-1 loss to Messiah on Saturday. 
• Junior Eliza Freeland leads the Herons with 10 points on five goals. Junior Caroline Kogut follows with nine points on three goals and three assists, while senior Leah Griffith has chipped in eight points on two goals and a team-leading four assists.  
• Kogut also leads William Smith with three defensive saves. 
• Sophomore Olivia Terranova has played the majority of minutes in goal for the Herons this season. She is 4-4 with a 1.93 GAA and a .741 save percentage. 

ABOUT HAMILTON: 

• Hamilton enters the week with a 6-1 record after a 3-2 shootout win against Connecticut College on Saturday and is ranked No. 10 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll. 
• Isabelle Nahon leads the Continentals with 18 points on seven goals and four assists. Nahon also has one defensive save this season.
• Brighton McMahon follows with eight points on three goals and two assists.
• Kelly Janssen has played every minute in goal this season for Hamilton. She is 6-1 with a 1.07 GAA and a .830 save percentage.

• Tuesday's game will be the 47th meeting between William Smith and Hamilton.
• The Herons hold a 32-12-2 advantage in the series over the Continentals, including a 16-5-1 edge in Geneva.
• Last time they met, Hamilton defeated William Smith 4-1 in Clinton, New York. Terranova made six saves in the game.
