PITTSFORD, N.Y.— The Hobart cross country team opened its season with a sixth-place team finish at the Rodenbeck Invitational, hosted by St. John Fisher this afternoon. Two Statesmen finished top 30 out of 103 runners, helping Hobart finish sixth out of nine teams.
Junior Duncan Kipkoech led the way for the Statesmen, finishing in 21st after crossing the finish line at 20:35.0. Sophomore Malachi Quinn closed out the 6-kilometer race with a time of 21:06.0 to secure 23rd place overall, while junior Philip Dilgard-Clark rounded out Hobart's top three with a time of 21:27.2, finishing in 33rd place.
The University of Buffalo finished on top of the team leaderboard after producing six top-10 finishers this afternoon. Buffalo's Cameron Bogdan was the individual medalist for the second straight season after finishing the 6k race with a time of 19:18.0. SUNY Geneseo finished second in the team standings, while Houghton rounded out the top-three teams.
