GENEVA, N.Y.—Ursinus scored twice in each half on its way to a 4-0 victory over William Smith on McCooey Field this afternoon.
Kirsten Johnson scored twice to lead the way for the visiting Bears (2-0). Katie Stduzinski and Marie Brainard had the other two goals for Ursinus. Elise Martin played all 60 minutes in goal and made two saves.
Sophomore
Olivia Terranova started in goal for William Smith and made nine saves in just over 53 minutes of work. First-year
Ryan Marsh played the final seven minutes and made one save.
MATCH MOMENTS
- After a scoreless first quarter, the Bears broke through in the 24th minute. Johnson one-timed a centering pass from Ava Wood into the back of the net.
- Two minutes later, Johnson struck again. Standing on the left goalpost, she redirected a Kylie Moore shot from the top of the arc into the back of the net.
- The Herons had one of their better opportunities of the game in the third quarter when Leah Griffith had a shot turned aside by Martin. Abigail Mantione's rebound attempt trickled wide of the goal post.
- Studzinski gave the Bears a three-goal margin two minutes into the fourth quarter. She picked up a rebound and snuck a shot across the goal line.
- Five minutes later, Barnard broke into the offensive zone, dribbled around a defender and ripped a shot into the net.

- Ursinus finished the game with a 16-7 advantage in shots.
- The Bears also had a 6-3 edge in penalty corners.
