The Bob Ford '54 Memorial Basketball Award is presented annually to the member of the basketball team who has proved to be most valuable to the team. The award was endowed through the generous loyalty of the late Dr. Kent H. Butler '54.

The award was previously named the WGVA Basketball Trophy, the Most Improved Player Award and the Ford-Butler Award. All three iterations were presented to the team's most improved player.
